Invitation

You Are Invited!

West Virginia University’s Division of Plant and Soil Sciences is hosting its 21st annual Organic Field Day on Saturday, August 19, at the WVU Organic Research, Education and Outreach Center located on Rt. 705 in Morgantown, WV. The Field Day is open to all.

This year marks the 21st Anniversary of the WVU Organic Research Farm project, so we plan to celebrate. In addition to the grower programs, we will have a variety of family-oriented activities and games. Come prepared for FUN!

The informal program will give you a chance to interact one-on-one with the faculty and students working at the WVU Organic Research Education and Outreach Center. Hot topics this year will include organic sheep management, insect pests, soil microorganisms and vegetable production and a workshop on organic Farm to Fashion.

If you’re interested in learning more about organic farming, some of the practices used, or are just curious as to what it’s all about, feel free to stop out and enjoy the evening with us! Gates will open 2 p.m. Saturday, August 19 for the field day and will close at 7 p.m.

Students and guests, shuttle vans will run from the Evansdale Campus (Lot 43 across from the WVU Greenhouse) to the Farm (free parking on weekends). The shuttle will pick up at Evansdale at 2:40 p.m. Or follow the directions.

For more information, call Dr. Jim Kotcon at 304-293-8822, or e-mail jkotcon@wvu.edu.  We hope to see you there!
